An automatic transfer switch is an electrical device that switches a load between two sources as soon as it senses a loss of power. These units are particularly useful on backup generators as they will start up as soon as the main power source fails. The automatic transfer switch can also start a backup generator if it senses voltage fluctuations. It will automatically disconnect the main power supply when the generator switches on. When the power comes back on the automatic transfer switch will turn the generator back off. The unit can be safely stored at -20 degrees Celsius up to a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius. The automatic transfer switch has a maximum current of 1600 Amps and a maximum voltage of 220 or 389 Volt. The transfer time is 0.45 seconds. The unit is an integrated type with self input and self recovery function. The units are ISO9001:2008 and have passed the EMC IEC6100-4 electromagnetic compatibility test. It is a 3 phase automatic transfer switch.
